RIGHT DECISION REDS!!!

I had the opportunity to fish with Chuck Simmons, of the "Coalition to Restore Louisiana". He brought down his 3 sons, Trey, Will, Michael, and son in law (Alabama hillbilly) Jason. I asked them what they wanted to catch today, (knowing in my mind trout were gonna be tough and it was gonna be a good redfish day), and they all said they wanted redfish off the bat!!

Well, lucky for this crew, conditions were doable with 20+kt winds out of the east. Water levels were up, so we hit the protected ponds around Lake John and caught redfish after redfish. The guys caught well over 40 redfish today, boxing 23 beautiful fish that were just inside the slot, and a few drum to boot, making for one of the prettiest boxes of reds I've seen in a while!

Turned out to be another fun day on the water, as these guys couldn't believe how hard the fish pulled, and cut up in that shallow of water! All fish were caught on dead boogies under a cork about 1-1/2'.

Fishing remains OFF THE HOOK!!! It is just plain out CRAZY down here in Hopedale right NOW!!!! Even in 20+kt winds, boxes of fish are still being caught with no problem!!
