.....is was what Nicky Mast said all morning long, and boy did it work! It was my second trip this year fishing with Ryan Mast, who brought along his wife, Nicky, and friends, Emily Madero and Matt Tritico. We headed down to Oak River and fished a spot, catching next to nothing. It wasn't a bad thing because it gave me time to teach everyone a crash course on the basics.
I moved over to another spot, and luckily hit PAYDIRT! I moved us to lee bank of a small pond and started to drift across a depth change before fish were being slung in the boat left and right. I stuck the pole and the fish ate up like no tomorrow for us. Everyone was giggling like children and having a blast. In no time, they boxed 100 nice speckled trout and a bass.
Water was up so, we tried for some redfish for a couple hours. Picked up 5 redfish along with 2 flounder and a drum to boot, before calling it a day.
