10-3-10 Paul Tullier Group
Sunday, I had the pleasure of bringing Paul Tullier from Mandeville and his group. His son Luke, brother Mike and dad J.T. from Baton Rouge, and their father Olan from the UK. Weather forecasts were calling for 20 -25kts and gusty. I did all I could trying to get this crew to reschedule, but with Paul being deployed here soon, that was out of the question. They were going to spend a day on the water and it didn&'t matter about the fish. I tell you how much it didn&'t matter about the fish, &'ole John Tullier tried to smuggle a banana on board. Got lucky and talked him into leaving it a the dock.
With the tide still coming in hard, I hurriedly asked Paul if they would be opposed to redfish. He said lets go give &'em a try.
I was torn between two spots which to start, Turned out the one we picked was a good move as the redfish went nuts. There were a few throw backs but the keepers were all out of a mold about 25 inches.
Luke and JT showed everyone else how to get er done! And in the midst of all of the catching, brother Mike aka "Karate Kid", hooked a beautiful flounder that was fit for stuffing.
The bite eventually slowed to a halt and we moved up the shoreline about 400 yds, as luck would have it, we got them goin again! Thank God JT left that banana behind! We hit our limit of redfish and got back to the BSM long before Saint&'s kickoff. These guys were a great family and I had a ball with them.
Fishing is just getting better by the day! There are plenty fish in the marsh, so don&'t let the wind fool you. We have been catching limits of trout in almost any condition, and when the winds are up above the 20kt mark, there are plenty of redfish to pull your string!
Come down to Hopedale and get in on one of these spectacular fall fishing trips! We are operating out of a brand new 2010 25&' Privateer which is more than spacious for you and your crew.
