IT'S NOT HOW YOU START BUT HOW YOU FINISH!

I had the pleasure of fishing yesterday with Doug Devilleneuve and his buddy Guy from Richmond, Texas. What a freaking tough day this was, and I think for a lot of people! Extremely low and cold water, along with the sun staying hidden most of the day, didn't contribute to helping matters.

We put in a lot of miles with only one lone trout to show for most of the day. It was a sure sign that we were beating a dead horse, but I wasn' t having that!

Ironically we ended up going back to the very first spot of the day and conditions had become favorable. The gnats had shown up, along with the redfish in full force.

With in, what seemed like a blink of an eye, we had our full limits of redfish on ice! These fish had gone absolutely stupid......it was like catching fish in a barrel!!! All fish were caught on a 3/8 oz jig head with a small piece of dead shrimp in about 8-15' of water.

What a way to start off the New Year! Turned out to be a fantastic day of fishing after all.
