HOPEDALE REPORT.....

I had the pleasure of fishing with Steven, Kerri, and Brooklyn (4yrs) Bourquard. We fished around Hopedale close boxing a few fish, little Brooklyn put her first fish in the boat and caught on quick giving her dad a fishing lesson. The gnats decided to make an appearance and little Brooklyn lost interest quick. Since Kerri's aunt lived on the Bayou, we brought Brooklyn back to stay with her, so mom and dad could get back out and handle business.

We headed back out and made the run to Oak River. Decided to "heat check" a spot I hadn't fished in a while. The fish were there and they were hungry. I casted for Kerri, while Steve held his own. In short order we boxed our 75 trout and a few drum to boot. All fish were caught on live shrimp 5' deep under a cork.

Fishing right now is still good on your better weather days between fronts. We are looking forward to another fantastic fish catching year this 2012. Be sure you don't miss out!!!
