I had some of the guys from Blue Cross/Blue Shield out of Baton Rouge. Douglas Schooling, Alan Kline, Ken, Brian, and Glenn.
We didn't have much in line for options with the wind and showers, so we grinded it out around the channel, which was definitely the right decision to box some trout. I tucked us in the marsh after our bite played out to try for a few redfish. They were few and far between, with one here and there. We called it a day early as the conditions were steady deteriorating still having managed a decent box of fish. We ended the day with 48 trout, 7 redfish, 1 drum, 1 flounder, 1 sheepshead. Brian got the BIG FISH AWARD for a 35+lb drum in 3' of water!!
And as always when these guys come, it's a blast!! Some great fun, with great company. All fish were caught on live shrimp under corks.
Fishing down here in Hopedale is beyond exceptional and can be considered as good as it gets! If you've EVER contemplated a guided trip, well, NOW is the time!!! Don't miss the boat and let this summer pass bayou!!
