I had the pleasure of guiding Big Eric Burgess, his girl Shelly, Catfish Chris, his girl Toni, and last but not least Mike the Snag! This crew fishes once or twice a year with me and everytime has been a ball!! Talk about a fun group of s
ome good fishermen, which always makes my job easier.
We headed deep into the Sound and got on a bite of some pretty fish, but mother nature had other plans for us. Eventually we were run back to closer in waters and fished around a bit with nothing to show. I decided going back towards the edges was going to be the ideal bet.
No sooner we were on our route in, the weather seemed to be giving us a break and the winds were laying. I diverted away from the game plan and snuck back out to a close by platform to give it a look. First set up nothing, but the next, we got on a decent bite. The crew caught up some more pretty fish. Right about the time the bait ran out, the bite quit and we headed back to the barn.
Turned out to be another good day on the water with 90 beautiful Speckled Trout 2-4+lbs, 3 flounder, and 1 drum. All fish were caught on H and H Custom Rods, with Fins Windtamer Braid, on live Boogie Shrimp, both Carolina rigged and 6’ deep under a sliding cork.
FISHING REMAINS OFF THE CHARTS!!! Get in on an end of the Summer trip before it’s over. Don’t let this Summer pass bayou!!!!
